iAge at Dutch Conference on Population Decline
iAge at Dutch Conference on Polulation Decline
On 9th October our iAge partners ZIF, the Province of Drenthe and the Municpalities of Hardenberg and Aa en Hunze organized a workshop on the opportunities for e-Health in areas of decline at this national conference in Amersfoort (NL). The Dutch iAge-ers are working together on initiatives to extend the active phase of the elderly and their social and economic contribution with the help of ICT solutions.
Dirk Strijker, Affiliate Professor of Rural Development at the University of Groningen (RuG), gave his expert views over the importance of a good internet connection in areas in decline - this is often lacking. Besides the e-Health workshop, Karin Kalveboer, Chairman of the NNB Care & Social Resources working group (Zorg en Sociale Draagkracht) presented a plenary session on the consequences for care, employment, care giving and voluntary work in areas of decline.
For further information on various aspects of areas in decline please visit http:/www.vanmeernaarbeter.nl/nnb/ where a report of the conference will also be available.
