Price

The price for staying at a guest family is 25 euro per person per night. Please note that payment is to be made directly and personally together with registration costs by creditcard or to the bankaccount of the Province of Drenthe.

The number of guest families is limited. Please make your reservation as soon as possible.  
 

Hotel van der Valk Assen

Hotel Van der Valk  Assen, comprises of 133 luxury hotel rooms, four spacious and well-appointed suites, they are rated 4 stars. All rooms have the following comforts: a spacious bathroom with bath, separate shower and toilet, minibar, hairdryer, coffee and tea making facilities, cabel tv, pay tv, telephone, radio,cordless internet and a personal safe. Most rooms also have their own balcony or terrace. Van der Valk Hotel Assen offers smoking and non-smoking rooms, we also offer adapted rooms for people with disabilities.

Of course children are very welcome. It is always possible to put an extra rollaway bed into the room. Special requests or questions? Our reception team can answer your questions and have information about fun activities in the region.

Every morning you are welcome to help yourself to our extensive breakfast buffet. With a diverse assortment of breads, a variety cold cuts and cheeses, yoghurt, fresh fruit, juice, coffee and tea. Nothing should be missing. Our chef will even fry you an egg on the spot, exactly the way you like it.

Coming from direction Groningen ( A28 ):
Take exit 33 ( Assen/Smilde). Turn left at the roundabout and drive straight ahead at the traffic lights.

Coming from direction Hoogeveen ( A28 ):
Take exit 33 ( Assen/Smilde). Turn left at the traffic lights. After 500m, you’ll find our Hotel on your left-hand side.

By public transport:

• At the railway station you can order a Traintaxi to get to our Hotel ( about 10 min. drive).
• Also busline 20, this bus stops at a 5 minute walk from our Hotel.

Accommodation

Hotel Van der Valk **** Assen has very beautiful single or double bedrooms, Their hotelrooms are equiped with all conveniences. They have a bath, shower, toilet, cabletelevision, pc-connection, safe and sometimes a balcony or  a terrace.

Price**

For a single bedroom the price is 110 euro per person per night. Breakfast and tourist tax are included. For a double bedroom you pay 125 euro, that also breakfast and tourist tax included.
If you should stay in this hotel, please indicate the name of the hotel and the dates of arrival and departure on the registration form.

Payment is directly and personally to the hotel by checking out.

HOLIDAY RESORT 'WITTERZOMER'

The best place for a family holiday is Holiday resort Witterzomer in Drenthe, in the north-east of the Netherlands! With bungalows, group accommodations, and camp-sites we can offer a variety of accommodation facilities, in a woody environment.

Holiday resort Witterzomer is situated in the heart of Drenthe. An area that seems to be made for walking, riding and cycling. You can almost hear the silence here; where else is that possible these days? This is the perfect place for rediscovering nature; sloping fields, woods and the heath.

The cycling paths in Drenthe (over 1000 km!) lead you through the most scenic places. Centuries-old megalithic graves, extensive forests and many picturesque farming villages. There are many attractions and there is a lot of amusement only a moment away from Witterzomer, such as the swimming and ice-skating paradise "De Smelt" or "Speelstad Oranje", an indoor play sensation for kids and parents! There's also the Northern Zoo (Noorder Dierenpark Emmen) and the Assen Traffic Park. Assen is nearby, within just 15 minutes cycling you'll reach the centre with its’ shops, sunny terraces and the well-known "Drents museum". Drenthe is full of idyllic places where hospitality is still common.

Coming from direction Drachten:
from Drachten: drive in the direction of Smilde/Bovensmilde and in Bovensmilde you'll see Tourist Board signs for Witterzomer.

Coming from direction Zwolle/Groningen:
from Zwolle/Groningen: drive along the A28 (the motorway between Zwolle and Groningen), when passing Assen, take the exit Assen/Smilde (nr.33). At the end of the exit you'll see Tourist Board signs for Witterzomer.

Bu public transport:

From the train/bus station Assen you can take a (train) taxi.

Room in a shared bungalow on Witterzomer Holiday Resort for the whole conference period (nights from 18 - 23 April)

• 122 euro per person (based on 2 persons minimum in a 4- person bungalow, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 bedroom with a double bed, shared toilet and shower) bed linen and cleaning included, breakfast not included
• 135 euro per person (based on 3 persons minimum in 6-person bungalow, shared toilet and shower) bed linen and cleaning included, breakfast not included. Costs for breakfast euro 10,50

Bungalow on Witterzomer Holiday Resort for the whole conference period
(nights from 18 - 23 April)

• 255 euro rent for a 4 person bungalow (1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 room with a double bed) breakfast and bed linen not included
• 380 euro rent for a 6 person bungalow (1 bedroom with double bed, 2 bedrooms with 2 beds)
• Breakfast for the whole conference period = 6 * 10,50 euro per person = 63 euro
• Bed Linen about 20 euro per person
• Tourist tax about 7,00 euro per person for a six day stay

Guest family

At last you can stay at a guest familiy. One of the family members works at the house of Province. This is the possibility to experience the life circumstances of a Dutch family. Payment is to be made directly and personally together with the registration costs by creditcard or to the banknumber of the Provincie Drenthe. Please note that there will be a limited amount of families. You may have to share bathroom and toilet with family. Guest families have single and double bedrooms.
